BREAKING NEWS: Dr. Sirajul Haq Talukder, Deputy Chief of Planning Commission and Deputy Project Director of Support to ICT Task Force Programme, Ministry of Planning passed away on mid Wednesday night (Approx. 12:30 AM) 25 August 2010 (Innanillah-e-wainna elaihe raziwun). Mr. Talukder left behind his wife, two daughters, many relatives and a host of well wishers to mourn his death. Everybody pray to Allah for his soul.

Project Name Process Automation and Network Connectivity for Jail Department, Eleven Central Jails
Objectives
Under the SICT Program, the following tasks will be undertaken:
o        Automation of different processes in 11 central jails
o        Prisoner information management system along with names, thumb-prints etc.
o        Prisoner admission database
o        Prisoner release database
o        Visitor information database
o        Store management system
o        Kitchen management system
o        Hospital management system
o        Human resource management system
-          Providing necessary hardware and peripherals
-          Establishment of LAN at the central jails
Citizen Benefits
The benefits that citizens will get after successful completion of this project are listed below:
-          Prisoners will benefit from increased efficiency by the government in providing various services
-          Prisoners will benefit from improved visitor management system
-          Citizens will benefit from improved transparency by the government about prisoner status

-          More efficient management of different internal processes
-          Easy storage and retrieval of information
-          Easy exchange of information within various jails
